Just picked up my new baby ('92 240) and I found some unusual problems. When I turn on the wipers, they skip the 1st setting (the one where you can choose how long between passes) and go at the next level down speed. No matter which level I'm at, it is always that speed. Even when I try to turn it off! Sometimes in a blue moon, it will work for a few wipes, then it goes back to DEMON WIPER mode! Any guess as to what is wrong? Thanks.

that sounds very much like a bad wiper amp. its the green box(i think its green or brown) by the wiper motor. whack it and see what happens while the wipers are going.
