just got my winters put on and ive noticed a rediculous shaking of the steering wheel when doing a high speed turn at around 100-120kmh, the thing is its only sometimes and seems to depend if the car is at an angle. also sometimes it happens going straight at around 120kmh.

I know im due for suspension, my stabilizer links especially. any ideas from this vague description? what should i spend to replace the whole front end suspension and do you think it can wait till spring?

The balancing may also be off on my winters, but i dont think the problem would be intermittent like it is if it were that.

id say 99% chances that its balance. espacially cause you didnt feel it til you slapped on the winters. your suspension likely fine. get the fronts balanced at a tire shop and you should be fine. The reason you only feel it on turns is because probably only one of them is out of balance. It is normal for the shaking to be intermittent - ive had so many different shakey wheels and i know what you mean that sometimes its smooth and sometimes it wobbles.

sometimes with low-profile tires and aftermarket rims, it could also be a bent (out-of-round) rim but im guessing you have normal tires on your winters... plus the qx4 rims are pretty damn strong.
