Crazy Temperature Gauge??

ok so i just recently put on a intake on my 92 240sx and the car was perfect.... no problems

the next day after i put it on, i start driving the car and notice the temperature gauge is not moving... just stayed down... suddenly it went half way and starts dancing & twitching down and back half way.. it continues to do this..... usally when i accelerate it happens mostly...I dont think the intake has anything to do with this.... but wtf could it be?what can be wrong... Thermostat? Help please..

I had this problem, it's your temp gauge sensor. It's probably loose and when the car moves it jiggles hence the "dancing" temp needle. Just check it and put it back on tightly. I just had to bend mine slightly so that it fit snuggly on the sender once again.

The temp gauge sensor is the one with the black plug in the picture.
