Crazy speedometer an odometer

Hey guys, im a nissan novice so i apologise if i dont make complete sense. Im very much still learning. Anyways in my 300zx the speedometer goes crazy and jumps randomly all over the place and my odometer runs slowly and completly inacuratly. Both go crazy while ideling and while driving down the road. Im not sure what the problem is or what to do. Im not 100% sure but i think the speed sensor itself is fine. Anything you guys can tell me will be greatly apeciated. Thanks

How do you know that the speed sensor is fine?

Does your cruise control work?

Try cleaning the connector for the speed sensor. Otherwise, if Cruise control works, and the gauges are still messing up, then it's a bad gauge cluster.

My speedometer runs 10-15mph high and my cruise control never works, should I be suspecting the same problem?
