I just replaced my high pressure power steering line with an aftermarket one I bought off of ebay, many people have used this exact line and it works fine. I got it on there and filled up the reservoir. I start the car. I know you're supposed to turn the wheel all the way left and right to bleed the system. I touch the steering wheel and wham! The wheel starts to rapidly move left-to-right uncontrollably! Can't hold it still.

I proceeded to jack up the front end and crack loose all the power steering lines in hopes to evacuate any air in there. I blead about half a liter through the system, but that proved useless.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

sounds like you may have crossed your pressure and return lines somehow, be sure thats not the issue, ive had that probem on.......chevy malibu i think....and my arm was through the steering wheel when i started the car......so i got to go to the hospital with a broken arm after that, haha(yes i did get workers comp), but that may be your problem, if its not then good luck figuring it out, i hope it doesnt take you too long(thas not sarcasim btw, sorry if it sounded lke it)

Hey, thank you for your input, but yes, I am sure they aren't switched around because I never touched the other line going to the power steering gear box(which is a cooling line if i'm not mistaken). So I'm really frustrated. lol

Thanks again

check my write up below, its linked in bold below my signature....you need to jack the car up, with lines connected, then turn it back and forth till no tiny airbubbles come up in your resevoir...

the lines are different sizes going/coming from the pump, so i dont know if you could sitch them (see 1&2)

Hey thanks guys, I feel so stupid now! lol I looked up some pics from your thread and realized that indeed I HAD reversed the lines. Not the cooling/high pressure lines but the two lines that feed from the gear box to the rack! I replaced them last week, and never thought twice about which way they went on. I just fixed it like 5 minutes ago and all is back to normal.

Thank you so much, this website is amazing!
