crazy pop up lights

yes another headlight problem thread but damnit i've been messing with my headlights all day and i cant figure it out. I have a new light switch, i replaced all 4 relays and my right headlight pops up and my left one doesn't but it will pop down when i turn the lights off. So last night i was manually popping up my left headlight and i noticed that the wires for the motor are all jacked up and the brown wire was barely twisted together. So i twisted it together good and put one of those little twisty cap things on it and electrical taped it up and it still didnt work but when i tried to manually turn the light the nob kept spinning back and i couldnt turn it, this didnt happen before but it still wouldnt pop up and i couldnt pop it up manually but if i turned the nob in the opposite direction it would go up a few turns then the motor would pop it up and back down again.Now my right headlight wont up(the one that used to work) and my left one isnt doing anything.I cant find out whats causing this and I've done alot of what the headlight tutorial has said. The only thing i can think of is the motors are glitchy? Can they get like this? I would like to know before i actually replace them and waste money

come on guys this is killing me i cant figure it out I've read the tutorials and still cant pin point my problem everything i do fixes one thing and creates a new problem.
