so last friday night some guy walked up to me and said nice z. then he went on about how i need his pacesetter header from the 80s and how the 3.1 liter build from MSA sucks...He told me the twice pipe exhaust which i am gonna order in the second week of july is crap, and so is the MSA 3 into 2, or something like that, header sucks too

so he also said thezstore.com and black dragon auto is full of fake parts

he claims to have 6 datsuns from 1970 to 1980

but anyways i also got offered a non running 1985 300zx turbo for a straight up trade on my car the same night by a completely different person

Don't trade... I've had 3 Z31's and tho they were nice and comfy when I had them, they all ended up getting squashed by one truck or another. They're not so timeless as the S30's are, certainly there's not as many people restoring Z31's. (though the 86' Z31 is darn sexy with it's extra wide flares and full taillights) That first guy might have known what he was talking about, but Even if MSA is replicated parts, it's good since 95% of S30 parts aren't made anymore. It's the quality of what you find that matters. If you don't like it, then send it back, it's up to YOU to decide what's good for *your* Z-car.

Keep in mind though that if a place was selling trash, then wouldn't be around long. There's plenty of good reviews on MSA parts.

I've got a long snout R200 clutch type LSD from an 87 300zx For sale that should bolt right in for $900 or $1000 with the axels and driveshaft

haha, crackheads make me laugh.

Btw, I have a pace setter header hidden above the bathroom in my store (not in our inventory, and dont want the auditor finding it) Not only is it pretty much brand new (not from the 80's) but it looks pretty much identical to the MSA 3-2 header that I have.

There are some small issues with the MSA twice pipes, but they arent bad.Videos of my twice pipes on my old stock L24:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tbb9mzHP ... ZT9wXzHof0

As for the Straight up trade for the Z31 turbo... I wouldnt take it personally, you can make your S30 a lot faster for a lot less money.

If he didn't offer a better place to buy parts, then he's just talking **** and probably doesn't know anything.

I always heard Pacesetter was poor quality, and that MSA is good. Is that not a true statement?

Yeah, I'll second that, our pace setter has already rusted pretty bad in the box

I had my old springs on when i took those pics.... I think they were stock height... and the exhaust wasnt fully mounted in those pics/vids. (only had one hanger on)

I pulled it into my new shop after my dyno run, and the 1 inch lip and 30 degree angle into the shop yanked the exhaust off at the header. ( I left it a bit loose just in case that happend)

I've got some NOS BRE springs I'm putting on her in a while and will do my best to mount the exhaust a little higher the next time........

I'm not a real big fan of the twice pipes, the chassis just doesn't lend itself to having to run 2 pipes, heck the 1 barely fits

yeah, it's true, I have one pipe that hangs a little too low, and then i have about 1/2 an inch of clearance between the other pipe and the tire. When i get a little more serious about re-hanging it, I can probably fix that, but evildky is right, there just isn't a lot of room for it all

nothing against the idea of twice pipes, it just seems the engineers at the time forgot all about the exhaust
