So I got thinking, I never really like the headlight eyelids that I currently see on most cars. Most look too obvious like a decal stuck on the headlight, unless that is what some are after. I always thought it would be better if there was a way to make it look like the headlight and eyelids are in fact how the car's lines really are, instead of a sticker on the headlight...Well I was really bored so I played around and came up with this:

It still needs to be improved, but I think it really sets the coupe's front end apart from the generic sticker-eyelid-itis, or stock generic triangular looking light syndrome that so many cars now have.

i don't like the way it looks to much. the headlight has a weird shape. you would have to change the inside of the headlight to pull it off, imo

It's no different than slapping on stickers haha, which look worse because they are just stickers and look kinda toyish, as opposed to actually making it looks like the car's light are shaped that way. This was just in good fun (and boredom).

But yah the inside of the light would have to be changed to match the outlines.

your photoshop was def some top notch work, lol compared to what i can do (and you don't wanna see what I can do)

not trying to start a fight, im just saying that I would much rather prefer an eyelid over this because if i don't like the way it looks i can just peel it off.

maybe if you changed the lines up a little it could look a lil better

I like it....a lot actually.

BUT, I dont think you would be able to get that effect with vinyl or whatever.

I'm curious, when you guys with eyelids on the headlights look at your cars, do you also think you should be able to redo the headlight inside to match the contours? OR is it because of the way it looks in my pictures that makes you feel it doesn't look right? Because just like you guys suggesting the inside be redone to match the outlines, I feel the same about the regular stickers people put on most headlights, that they look out of place sort of.

Funny enough, I remove the one part about the headlights most folks don't like, the amber/orange light hehe.

Hm...good feedback though. I just wish I would be able to experiment with this in real and see what it would look like.

Seems like a cool photoshop, but in order to achieve that you'd have to change the shape of the hood? Simply put the black lines you're playing with are spaces between the hood and other parts (fender / headlight). Those lines won't change unless you're changing the whole part!

Hmm that's interesting too. Looks a bit like the Chrylser Crossfire for some reason hehe.

And yeah I realize the black lines are the hood and gaps between the parts. In order make it look like my rendition the "right way," of course, there would have to be some fab work done. To do it on the cheap, it might be possible to do some kinda visual/surface sticker'ing, a least to see what the concept would look like. ;)

If we are going to this route why not angle it some more and make it look more aggressive?? Maybe another 10% angle or so.... :gotme

Blinkers are overrated. No one seems to use them here anyway.

:D

Actually my way, the blinker should still be visible.

As for the black lines I'm playing with, yes I know those are the seams around the hood and light fixtures. That is why I'm playing around with those, to see what it would look like if the shape of the headlight was actually the way the stickers simulate them to "look." And maybe you were referring to DAAN's picture, but mine, I don't mess with the fender lines, just the lines between the headlight and hood. I can almost see how this would work, if a little ghetto. Hmm... more thinking needed.

:D
