Crazy lights

Hey I have a 1990 nissan 240sx and I was going to put a new head unit in it today so I disconnected the negative battery termanial like I have been told to do when ever I would on anything electrical. When I connected the termanial back up all my lights where flashing, the key wasnt in the iginition and none of the the lights where turned on by there switches. It was at my gf's house and she said that she has had cars lights flash before without the key being in the iginition. Is it anything I did with disconnecting the battery? or could there be something around her house causing this?

My car did that once, it was the alarm going off, but I had the alarm horn disconnected.
