Ok Everybody seems to have this problem but no one can FIX IT!I've tried everything that people have posted. Cleaned IAA, put in plugs wires, O2 sensor, cleaned injectors with SEAFOAM, ran seafoam through brak booster hose. changed MAFS. messed with timing. EVERY OTHER THING U COULD THINK OF!!The only thing I can figure is that my timing guide, and tensioner are causeing the problem. But this entitles 10+ hours of work or $500. I'd rather find a different way to fix problem if there is one.ANYONE PLEASE Give me sugestions anything you've done that has worked or any good ideas that would be GREAT!Thanks J.Mack

are you sure the clutch is disengaging all the way/does it happen when you push the clutch in in neutral?

I had the same problem, and tried averything. What it ended up being pissed be off. . . it was just plain bad gas. if you're tank is near empty, fill it up w/ gas from a gas station you trust. It worked for me, so try that besore you spend insane amounts of money replacing expen$ive part$.good luck

mine idles from 400-1000 depending on how it's feeling that particular moment. Some days it won't go up and down, and other days the magical jumping RPMs will do their thing all day.

My roomate ran seafoam through his brake booster recently and said it fixed his, but apparently this didn't work for you. Unless it's really bothering you, I wouldn't worry too much. I've never had any problems caused by it.

Try removing the battery cable + and leave it for at least 15 to 20 minutes. Then come back and hook it back up, start and drive it. What we just did is clear the ECU of learned patterns and let it go back to the base installed map. If you have had IAA or IACV problems - this will do it so long as the IACV has been fixed! Mine did this habitually when warm and the only thing that fixed it was replacing the IACV, clearing the ECU, and then adjusting the IACV per the book (mine did not need any adjustment - came up 700rpm once replaced). The "hunting" idle happens a lot with this ECU/IACV. The one other slim chance would be a vacuum leak somewhere - those usually cause surges at strange times. Good luck!

Well I've tried everything besides buying a new IAA and puting in new timing guides and tensioners. So I've come to a decision. F*@K! the KA24E!! I'm trashing this hunk of truck metal and ordering a SR20DET front clip. So in a couple months I'll be posting questions on how to do the complete swap. So if anyone has the Diagram on how to rewire the sr20 PLEASE email and send it to me, thanks for all the help. [email protected]

I know you said you tried everything, although I don't recall you metioning the coolant temp sensor so I'm just throwing this out there. Disconnect the coolant temp sensor (it's a red or yellow connector located in front of intake manifold to the right or water inlet) inspect both ends of contacts for corrosion and spray with battery terminal cleaner or wd-40, clean with toothbrush or use very thin screwdriver to scrape off corrosion. Reconnect and start car. Good luck
