here's a 60" sub that Richard Clark built... hit 160+db's at 11hz with 5000W, and imploded the bread truck it was loaded in

oh and everything that you post should have the EEK symbol after it... :D

Ayjay, this is cool... I need to find the pic of the hurse that had a 30 inch sub, it was sweet.

How does "ICE and RICE" sound for the thread? that would be good for a sticky. Any ideas?

ok, it's tough to put this amp into perspective, and in fact the pictures don't do it justice, so bust out your measuring tape and see how big this amp is for yourself. it's a rare sony amp (xm-2000R)that retails for around $4000 US, only puts out around 2000Wx1 @ 1ohm, but the quality of the components inside it is just crazy

DIMENSIONS: 28" x 19"x 4"WEIGHT: 65 POUNDS

oh ya...

Legends of Car Audio

This would be a good place to put info about Car Audio facts & myths from the late 80's early 90's when the segment TOOK off.

Here's a few ideas ...

HCCA AmpsPhoenix Gold AmpsJL SubsThe old Fosgate stuff, Punch 45/75/150's & Power 300/650/1000'sAlpine HU's

Feel free to add to this list, and I'll start getting pics/specs for the things I've mentioned.

Wave Guide - A circular, elliptical or rectangular metal tube or pipe through which electromagnetic waves are propagated in microwave and RF communications. The wave passing through the medium is forced to follow the path determined by the physical structure of the guide.

There's also a little tutorial on WaveGuides USD Audio's web site.

Also see their page on Imaging.

These guys were CRAZY Car Audio pioneers in the 80's.

Wayne Harris and his monster 24" woofers. I think he had one of the first ever in car DAT players in that thing.
