crazy beeping noise 07 Sentra....

anyone heard of this?

Recently, I've been hearing this weird beeping noise coming from the OUTSIDE of the car. I can hear it from the inside but it gets louder when i roll the windows down. At first ti sounded like a squeal from the brakes but it happens when I am on the gas as well.
it goes: beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. and then stops. and then does it again.
it can only be replicated while driving in the city but when in on the highway, it stops.
there are no warning lights on...
also my car has been on the fritz, i thought maybe because of the heat, my display sometimes flashed "trunk open" when its not and such.

IMO, If It was me I would disconnect the battery for about a hour or so then hook it back up and see if it is still making that noise. It's like re-setting the whole car again. See if that works.

You're sure it's coming from the outside? Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep is normally associated with a horn or warning alarm/buzzer, mechanical parts are more squealing, grinding, clunking type sounds. I think the buzzer on the B16s is on the cluster gauge (at least on my 09 it is), maybe your ECU or BCM is acting up, do as Tommy says and disconnect the battery to reset them and see if that does anything.

i have a similar sound coming from my car, but it only happens when i hit 60 but i dont think i can hear it from the outside. it's not beeping though, it's a continuous sort of whistling sound that doesnt stop til i either go above or below 60-65 range... but i thought it might be my billet grille whistling or something
