Okay ive done some research but ive been pretty lazy figured id put the question out here too. is it possible to put the TT rotary from the 93+ rx-7 into the 1st gen rx-7? alot of ppl seem to put v8s in the older ones tho eh another one of my weird swap questions.

Anything is possible with creativity and enough money. Swapping 13b's in Miata's is pretty common. Show pics of your chassis.

Yes, in 84 and 85 they had a GSLSE model that came with the 13B motor. It also came with 4 wheel disks.

Yeah there is a definate increase in power. You are going from a single turbo to a sequential twin. I believe the FC turbo was like 215-220 and the FD was like 255-270. I could be way off but I looked at an FD about 8 years ago while I was still stationed in San Diego and still had my hatch (before I knew anything about the S chassis. The price wasn't that bad then either. I was looking at a 96 I think in 98 and it was only like $15k. Had an *** load of miles on it though. Took it for a drive and man was that thing nice.

while the 13B-REW can be swapped into a 2nd gen with a reasonably common kit (the motormounts, mainly) It's easier to streetport and slap a giant turbo onto the 13BT that tends to fit rather...well into the FC engine bay. Makes similar power.

I'll never bother turbocharging my RX-7. This one will say n/a, maybe eventually with a mean PP. Which will render it mostly unstreetable, but wicked powerful.

Honestly, as much as I love the Wankel (eheheh), if I'm hankering for power, a V8 it is. Thoughts of SHO swaps dance in my head sometimes. Or LSx's.

Neal FYI the FC turbo II was only making 200hp by the 90-92 and less before that I believe 170, also the FD chassis was only making 255hp and they only sold 93-95 FD3S' here in the States. Nothing past 95 due to a sales drop. Unless imported otherwise.

Thanks for clearing that up for me dude. Hell, that was 8 years ago when I looked at that FD...I couldn't remember what year it was.

As far as the HP was concearned, I knew I wasn't to far off, but didn't know the exact figures.

THANKS HOMIE!!

oh yes.

shame they then outlawed the rotary's use in Le Mans. It was said that when they took the 26B apart, it looked like it could have lasted another race.

So... how often did that car have to stop and refuel the oil tank?

For sure, Scoot sports in japan built an all motor 4 rotor, it appeared in a Option video, sounds pissed.
