I´ve seen crate engines at both Summit and JEGS, really nice prices and often upgraded internals and cams.Do you know if these engines is brand new or restored used ones?
If we talk LS1/2, they cost around $5000. How much do you guys pay for a used one?A used LS cost 6000 here.

ive seen a few past by ebay for like $3500-5000 for a used one with everything (ecu, harness, transmission)
you have to take into account 6 speeds are expensive, especially sport tuned 6 speeds. sometimes costing more than the motor (supra 6 speed vs 2jz anyone?)

i'm sure you can get a used one for that price, but with 85k+ miles. trust me, you do not want to get a clip, these things are a MAJOR PITA to take out. i absolutely hate taking the ls's out of camaros and corvettes.
they do last a long time, some reaching 250k i've seen.
you're going to spend a ton on a crate. some are $6k without a transmission etc etc. so crate ($6k) + standalone ($700) + ecu ($1-200?) + custom drive shaft and mounts (???) = nearly $7k with those things. then you gotta get a transmission which ranges from $500-1500 for a auto or $2000 up for a 6 speed.
