Hit some black ice on Friday causing me to slide right into a building instead of the parking spot I was aiming for. The hood was completely crushed, the bumper and grille need to be replaced. Today my goal was just getting my spare hood to line up and latch. I ended up using hood pins because the latch is destroyed. I couldn't source a bumper for today. I was thinking of stealing the old one off the green truck but I decided against it. I also couldn't source a grille or headlight bucket. This is how I am rolling till spring I guess. I have all of $15 in repairs. The old hood can be seen in the foreground, not much to see.

Dang, sorry to hear Rev, at least you hit black ice going slow and not fast where bad things could've happened!

Hate when that happens, Rev. This is one of those things that gets reflected by my sig. No pun intended as my own front end is f***ed.

A few years ago, my truck would come with glamour and it has been on an agricultural downslide ever since. My dad ran into a gas station and crushed the: left front fender, front bumper, cracked the grill and bent the radiator support. I was able to hook a chain between a pine tree and my fender/bumper and pull it out somewhat. I eventually removed both the fender and the bumper and beat them out with hammers, but it is obvious that they were previously f***ed. They are just a little better now. New 4x4 fender is 350 dollars, and I will say that I'm not spending anywhere near that as long as the current one will clear the 31x10.5's I intend to have back on it someday.

I took the truck to Wegmans tonight. Still drives which is a testament to the build of these things.

On a happier note: I ordered my Hellwig rear sway bar from Summit last night. Too bad it doesn't ship till 3/19. We are down to a handful of weeks till we see the green truck out and about again.

DR: Nothing like using a building to stop a slide :D

I have decided to transfer the bumper from the green truck. New bumper for the green truck will be here tomorrow, brand new!

Great thing about black is you can pop on used hood or fenders and prime with black and it will look better than any other color primed LOL

That sux, don't look too bad though. Parts are still pretty easy to find and you seem to be skilled enough to resurrect it with no problem. A good running truck deserves a face lift.....lol

That sucks. Good news is you're ok and there wasn't any serious damage.

Spent a few hours moving parts around, here's the result.

I am just glad I got things to line back up the way they did. Being a winter truck means it's never going to be close to perfect. That's the old bumper from my 95.

The 95 got a facelift today as well.

Brand new 1-piece bumper, went back to clear lenses. The nice thing about the later 1-piece bumpers is they are already drilled for driving lights.

Looking good! I have some fogs I need to install. Keep the hood pins and make 'em wonder whats under the hood.
