Yeah, losing a car sucks. That car got me out to CO, down to the mountains, down to Denver, everywhere I needed to be, and back to WI with just an injector going bad. After I cleaned the engine up (seafoam, throttle bodies, MAF, whatever other sensors, etc.), it ran like a champ and got like 24mpg if it was mostly highway. It was around 240,000 miles on the body when I crashed it, with 80,000-100,000 on the engine. It was a decent 40,000 miles. I learned to control RWD in the snow with her, found out that I can do budget mechanical work when I'm dirt poor and need to get around, and actually enjoyed taking care of it.
By the way, I am back to being dirt poor. I paid my uncle $500 for a rusty 91 Jeep Wrangler that needs some TLC. I already did plug/rotor/cap/wires/air filter, 4 new shocks are going on next weekend, and tonight I get to hunt for vac leaks!!
