well posting this in here caus this is were i read and post, so bear with me that its kinda in the wrong area.

Well i was in my friends S14 crusing on the freeway, there is a sharper corner comming up and he is driving a bit spirited but not reckless. we are entering the corner and he down shifts to 3rd, the rear wheels feel lifted, lose traction and kick out a bit. he over corrects and spins off the freeway, down an embankment doing an 1120 in all.

end result.

lots of scratches, beat up front left SE rim, lost a fog, bumper half off and a few dents.

we make sure we are alive, we get out look at the car. when he announces "Damn... that was the most expensive roller coaster i ever been on"

You learn something new every day. today i relised what stupidity is when driving. not only is driving a prevledge and not a right, but so is life. too many times i take it for granted doing things for that adrenaline rush, and not realy realising what a wipe at 80 mph can do. needless to say we are lucky we missed all the concrete polls lining the road ever 15 feet or so, but we went from 80 to 0 in about 40 feet. basicly luck. my friend said he was sorry, and that he most regrets that he put my life in danger.

Stupid kids grow up one way or another.

Glad to hear you're OK.

One thing though, any spirited driving on public roads is reckless.

Remember this old saying, you have to pay hard to play hard. That goes for your well-being and the safety of others...not just the costs of car damage and repair.

Happened to my dad 2 times, onces just ran off the on ramp no dammage, second time bald tires back of 2.5TL downshifter took corner to fast took out whole passenger side on deadmans curve, totaled. Lesson UNLESS YOU KNOW YOUR REV's VERY well never downshift in the middle of a corner, of coruse unless you wanna drift but seriously if the revs aren't just right it will ofset the balance of the car in a turn and seem uncontroable.

i downshift in corners alot but im usualy planing the countersteer that will follow. but as i said. no more street drifting. to much to risk. better to do it legaly and not get reckless driving tickets.
