Not hating on all USDM, but my car i've been using while I rebuild the Z is starting to crap out on me.

I started up my car and put it in reverse, but didn't move, I tried pushing it, but wouldn't budge, wtf?? then I put it in neutral, and it starts to move forward! My guess is a shift linkage, or the gears on the transmission are messed up or something, it's a automatic. Any Ideas?? I really don't want to do any work to it, but I need it for school during the winter, so mother rust doesn't have it's way with the Z.

p.s. everything worked fine yesterday, this morning it just went to hell, haven't had any major problems like this with that car. Any Ideas would be helpful.

It's a 91 dodge shadow america used to be my grandma's car, but she doesn't drive anymore, so i took it for a winter car, and i've kept it well maintained, when i got it, i had to change the radiator, fan, and thermostat, then new tires, fuel filter twice, all new lines, new brakes, but those are all minor issues but they get spendy, i've put probably close to the same amount into this car, as i have the z and it's irritating. but what can i do i guess, since it's only a winter beater to me.

does anybody know where the linkage is located on this car?? Also after replacing all those cooling parts, the car still overheats, and smokes a little from the bay after running for a while, radiator and fan are good, the thermo, i've replaced a couple times, and it still overheats. any idea's on that either??

I don't have anything against the usdm's, most of them could take my car out in a 1/4mile for now , this car is just getting on my nerves!

lol, it's a K car, me, I'm not a big dodge fan, but the K platform introduced int he early 80's saved chrystler, and the shared platform meant that the cs and glh turbo is a direct swap made them popular hotrods int he 90's

the caravan, omni, shadow, and pretty much every other chrystler product shared the K platform

I've seen a turbo omni with an automatic trans run an 11 second quarter mile!

that said, they were kinda disposable, they were meant to be cheap to make allowing them to share suspension, chassis, and drivetrains across all the models made them cheap to produce, I don't think they intended them to last this long

damn haha that explains the problems, well i just intend on driving it into the ground, hopefully it will get me through the cold months of school so I can bring the Z out when it warms up.

that's crazy though, 11second i never thought people would actually race these things, i've seen turbo models, but never really thought they had any potential. but I guess I was wrong lol, maybe i'll have to drop a turbo motor in there, and make it a sleeper haha.
