The previous owner of my 93 240 got a really crappy tint job, maybe DIY. Its starting to ripple and just plain look ****ty. What should I use to get it all off? Peel it off then use some goo-gone or is there a better way?

Yeah peel it off slowly then go to a auto store and pick up this stuff made by 3M that takes off tree sap and such, it works really well on sticky substances.

I removed my crappy tint, it was purple when i bought the car. By just heating up the tint with a hair dryer then using a razor blade to get up a corner and then I would just peel. It wouldn't always come off in the biggest chunks so it took a while. Then to get the glue off I just used rubbing alcohol and scrapped it off with a brush. Though I didn't really need to take care of my rear defroster because it already didn't work before I removed the tint. Shouldn't take you more then an afternoon.
If you screw up your rear defroster lines, you can find the gap w/ a multimeter and then fill it in w/ some conductive paint. There's a section on how to do it in the FSM.

I used this tuff called Goof Off that I got at Lowe's for about $6. I didn't even use a whole bottle. You better be ready for some sore arms though, it takes a while.
For the defroster lines, I got a little kit from JC Whitney for $5. It's the conductive paint and includes a guide to make sure the lines are straight.

your quarter windows are pretty easy to tint for both s13 and 14. I did my driver's and passenger side windows and they were alittle screwy at first. First time i did i ended up scrapping the drivers window and redoing it. I wouldn't even attempt the rear glass myself but I've had my system in the backseat and can't really reach the window. Now if you could pop the rear glass out so gravity doesn't get its way with the tint it would be alot easier.
