Today I reinstalled the weak “Bose” spare tire subwoofer. I also noticed something I hadn’t before. The front door speakers have more bass and less highs, while the rear door speakers have practically no bass and more highs. Did Nissan intend to use rear speakers that sound like “Fisher Price” ones? It’s obvious all four should be replaced with the same type to sound alike. Any recommendations which ones to buy? Thank you all.

Upgrading the speakers was like a miracle upgrade. It should have been done decades earlier. The difference was amazing as if it was a new system. I upgraded my stereo but never the speakers which was ridiculous to say the least. Reason was I only cared about video music.

Eventually in the end I had distortion, crackle, and muffled sound.

Fisher price sound was about right, I was mortified that my rogue speakers were only 20 watts! It was a decade of listening to sonic hell.

If you want the loudest, baddest sound system a teenager would like I have no suggestions.

But if you want decent sounding beautiful speakers an old man like myself appreciates, try the Rockford Fosgate brand. Front & rears, Don’t let the affordable price fool you,
I personally get enough clear highs and lows for my old ears. Loud enough too. :BnB:

It’s like going from analog to beautiful pristine digital. The difference is amazing especially with any new modern radio system. Personally I have a Pioneer with a small video screen. Tweaking your built in graphic equalizer helps your sound to your liking too. :dblthumb:

Getting rid of the crappy rogue 20 watts speaker was a definite game changer. :lolling:

Thank you for the speakers suggestion. Has anyone successfully run an 8 gauge cable from the battery thru the firewall of a 2019 Rogue SV? I spent an hour with a flashlight looking under the hood and dash trying to figure out a way to bring the cable inside the cabin and saw none. I certainly have no intention of drilling a new hole thru the firewall in fear of causing major damage. Any pics would be helpful and appreciated. Thank you so much!

Follow the Engine Room Harness and you'll find a huge rubber grommet at the driver's corner of the firewall, you can poke through alongside the bundle and then seal it up after you're done routing. You'll need to remove the intake tubes and the battery to get at it.

Please pardon my ignorance but are you talking about removing the entire air filter box, plus the battery to access that huge grommet? Sounds pretty simple, I will try it this weekend. Thank you so much!!

Yep, that grommet is buried deep behind the strut tower. For a small wire you can use a coathanger to pierce the grommet and snake a wire through from inside, but for an 8 gauge cable you'll want to seal it afterward. So getting at the face of the grommet is probably necessary.

Well, it took a while and I was scared the death the whole time dismantling the air box running the stupid 8 gauge cable into the cabin but I did it. As far as the crappy rear speakers go, I ordered just one set of JBL Club 64FSL from Crutchfield for now to see if they sound better than OEM before I buy the front ones. They are 3 ohm instead of 2 which I don’t think will make much difference and they’re including the mounting brackets and wire harness for the door connector for free, not a bad deal. I will advise after they’re installed and report how they sound. Thanks!

Here is an update for the new rear door speakers from Crutchfield. Don’t waste your time changing them because it turns out the Bose amp sends out preset audio frequencies to specific door speakers. The new ones sounded no better than the factory Bose ones, except for the increased highs due to the 2-way speaker. I’m surprised Crutchfield didn’t know that. It’s a good thing I tested it on only one door because the JBL’s are going back to Crutchfield.
