I take my car to get painted, and I told him I want the best "package" they have, which would be about $1250. We then agreed on $1000 cash. Included in this was Prep work, base coat, clear coat, remove dents, install and paint new bumper, and paint some trim flat black. He told me it would take 3-4 days. Well 2 weeks and 2 days later, I go to get my car and it looks like crap. It looks like they didnt even use clear coat in the back of the car, theres tons of little dings that you can see EVERYWHERE, it looks like he didnt even sand the bottom of my pig nose bumper, he just sprayed over it, theres over spray on my head lights, my muffler got painted, my trims didnt get painted, you can see in 2 places where the paint ran and dried. And like an idiot i pay for it, then go home and realize what the **** i just did. So i go back there and just talked to him normally, and he said bring it back next week and he will WET SAND AND BUFF IT for me. He didnt wet sand it yet!?!? He says it costs $300 to do that and he will do it for free. And im almost 100% sure that that isnt gonna get my dings out. Oh and not too mention when I brought up that my muffler got painted he told me i can just go to home depot buy some silver spray paint and it would look fine. So I want your guys advice, should I let him wet sand/buff it then go from there, or should I just ask for half my money back and say ill get the better business bureau involved? I need to hear from you guys today cause im going back there tomorrow. Thanks

you got owned my friend, i can't believe you actually paid for it and drove off, at least you came back, that was good....here's what i think..

let him know what a ****ty paint job he just did, tell him to redo it nicely this time for free, pay for anything that god damaged like your muffler, headlights, trim, etc.., and then if he refuses tell him you'll be taking legal action

you guys made a deal and the deal was you give him 1000 bux for what was agreed upon, dent removal, nice paint, clearcoat, prepwork, etc..

one important question though, did you get any/all of that in writing?

Yea I have a estimate printed out. I juat looked at it and he didnt put remove dents in the description, but he said he would and he circled the ones he saw before he painted. I just noticed that he also under desription he said that he would straighten out my trunk, so its level, he didnt do that either.

Yes but do you actually think that that is going to get those little dings out that are all over the car?

you've got to get your money back man. If you've got drips, he obviously didnt care and for that much money, he better f-ing care. Go get your money back, get the BBB involved ANYWAYS, and take your business elsewhere...With this crappy new "paint job" you'll have to probably spend more to get it right now.

what im gonna do is take pictures of every mistake he made. im pretty sure he isnt just going to give me back all of my money, so then i wonder if i just tell him i want my money back, hes going to tell me to leave and not wetsand/ buff my car, and ill just leave empty handed. Now what guarantee do i have that the bbb will do something about this matter?

Damn, sounds like you could of gotten a cheap paint job at 1 DAY Paint and Body for $400 and it would have come out better. As for the dings, unless it is stated in the contract that all dings will be removed, I think you are screwed on that one. What you and the guy discussed is irrelevant. Learn from the experience. Next time no amtter who paints your car remove anything you don't want paint on. Unless you are spending the big bucks (up into the thousands of dollars) always assume they are just gonna go to town with the spray gun and not even mask stuff off.

I don't wanna come across the wrong way man but you got what you paid for, $1000 bucks is about the cost of materials when i do paint job on a vehicle, and thats not including labor, it still goes back to the old adage buyer beware you should have contacted a few people that had their cars painted by this guy and asked them if they were satisfied, and as far as your money your screwed if he is a good buisnessman he will work it out with you and settle up and do something about the problems. When i paint anybodys car i make sure i know what they want and especially when i put a Body kit on, because to do it RIGHT is not cheap. for some reason everyone wants a paintjob that looks like SEMA show vehicle paintjob but nobody wants to pay for it! My shop Street Dreamz makes sure everyone is happy and i tell people straight out because if i don't i get badmouthed and i havent yet and hopefully i don't because that is VERY bad for buisness. Good luck man and im sorry someone didnt tell you the truth but it's hard to find anyone anymore that cares for anybody else's problems.
