crappy gas mileage

i just had a cat put on with all new piping and a new muffler but my gas mileage only at about 17.7 mpg. that sucks. could it be the o2 sensor maybe? if so how much is that gonna run me??? any help is appreciated.

Look at other threads before making your own. There is another gas mileage one around with all the answers.

An O2 sensor should only be about 15-20 bucks for the one that you have to splice the wire. For one that just plugs in it costs a little more: about 35 .
