Crap... the damned thing isn't starting...

Okay I'm pretty sure it's the starter. But I need to clarify first.

Alright, I've been having trouble starting the car lately. If I turn the key it'll crank but then it takes a few seconds to start. I don't know if this is the alternator or the starter. Argh! This is buggin the craps out of me.

Push starting works fine. Today was the last time it would start on its own. I can hear the click but no start. The battery I just bought is dead, so says the battery charger, and I'm just stumped. So is it the starter or the alternator? *Sigh*

Did you try jump starting it, if it starts like that then I would say its the alternator, if not, it might be both?

Jump starting doesn't work. I have a battery charger and hooked it up and it still wouldn't start. The battery is still reading voltage and I've been driving around on it for a while. A push start works. I'm really thinking it's the starter. I really hope I can find one.

Hit the starter with a hammer (seriously). I used to keep a wrench in my car when I had my KA. I'd tap the starter and it'd start right up. It would suck when it rained though.

get it rebuilt or get a new one...theyre not hard to find...i have the same problem with my SR...starter works like crap...i just havent had time to get it rebuilt

FIXED! Turns out the morons who did the alarm wired it directly to the ignition signal wire. The alarm shut off and shorted out.
