So on friday as im heading to my hotel room to get ready for my prom...my timming chain snaps, i know i know bent valves and all that other crap.i heard clicking coming from the motor a couple days before that but id figure i would wait till the weekend...me and my procrastination. guess its my fault bought from cns auto on ebay. just thought ide share. looks like a got a fun weekend ahead for me.

you sure it's the chain? or you broke those chain guides. either way, it's going to be swap or rebuild.

i never heard of anyone snapping a timing chain but dam that suck....so do you have pictures

Well im still in high school making minimum wage at gamestop, cool place to work at by the way. dont really got money to spend on a rebuild if i do it will take a while nor even if i do a motor swap. guess im gonna take out the head and see the damage from there but i will be posting up som pictures for you guys to see.

Did your chain actually break ?? or was it the guides cause they will when there not upgraded .i know from experience.

try going to the junkyard and finding a decent head since you dont make much cash or the alternative is just try and find another ka for cheap or the better option go sr or rb!

sweet i part timed there for a while ...love gettin to take home brand new games and play um for free lol...

but anywho weird about the chain...maybe its the tensioner........but then again ive been seein some weird stuff happen to peoples cars

sold my ka 100,000 $300.00 so i could get my wiring done .

Sorry it took this long to get back to this.So i took my valve cover off to find out thatthe exhaust cam nut came loose so the bolts now stripped.couldve sworn i tighten that bi**h when i installed thenew timing chain... . I also did a compression testand found out that i have no compression in cylinder3 havent seen extent of damage yet on the piston but i decided im just gonna port the head and get that over with.

Rip the head off its not to bad and next time use red lock tight man its worth it .. And a lil p An p sounds like a plan .get some piks up .

yeah, i just figured out im running on like 2 cylinders... so ima buy a ka, rebuild, drop it in, the TURBO...

so during this build are u driving another car? cuz ima ride with my current ka and rebuild the new one on a motor stand
