Last night someone broke the rear window on the drivers side. Luckily the tint is holding all the glass from going into the car, but now i have to replace the window. My dad filed a police report, but i'm wondering how much a replacement is (94 Q45)? i have a deductible of 500 for insurance, and i'm assuming the dealer, who i will get a quote from, will want to charge a lot. also, does anyone know if the tinting is also covered? i'll have to get the new window done.

edit: i forgot to add, it's going to rain today, too!

According to the police, who came to the door, we did not call them, someone drove all over my neighborhood with a bb gun and shot at a bunch of cars. The cops drove all over the neighborhood and alerted the car owners after they responded to one persons call and noticed others. We had one other car hit, but it was to the body and not a window.

Tint should be covered.

Your insurance company should be sympathetic when they realize it was neighborhood vandalism. Better your glass than your body!

Might want to see how adjusting the comprehensive affects your rate. I run a $100 deductible because of windshields, etc. for not much more than a $500 deductible.

i'm 20 so my insurance is really high, and i have the high deductibles to make it cheaper. i'm not sure how much that would change the rate, but i pay a lot already.

the dealer says the window itself is 274 for a grand total of 500 to install (labor is around 125/hr). a place called mr glass says 297 for the glass and 30 to install, but they get the glass from the dealer also. and then i have to get it tinted.

Junkyard?

FYI - Liberty Mutual offers FREE glass coverage (no deductible). Covers all windows, mirrors and even HL lenses! Not bad prices, either.

You should worry more about finding the ****ers who shot the window than kick their *** and make them pay you for the window than kick their *** some more.
