I was driving home from a friends house and I stop for some gas, I turn off the car, pump, then turn it back and on and the headlights work and that is is. No tach, no speedo, no ac, no stereo, no clock, nothing in the dash. I got pulled over because I have no tail lights. THe only thing electrical that works is the headlights.

What the hell could cause crap like this?I have a 95 240sx.Is there a fuse for all of this stuff?I am about sick of car trouble....Anyone have any suggestions?

The car also sounds like its have a bit of an idle issue. I wouldn't know exactly because I have no tach. Anyone ever encounter this?If you know what this is or can offer any help please email me [email protected]

anyone local care to lend a hand...

Might not be the same but in the '89 coupe my bf and I bought had similar problems. Only the digital HUD and the headlights would turn on.

Took awhile but we discovered that there was a bad wire inside of the wheel colom where you switch the lights on. We replaced it and everything has worked fine ever since. I'm not sure where else there might be a problem but you could try checking there.

thanks for the help. I found out what it was. I have electric fans, and the power wire that attaches to the positive battery cable came loose and fused with the negative cable. It didn't expose any copper on the negative, but there was enough contact to ground out everything in the engine bay fuse box. Not sure why the headlights worked, but that goodness they did.Next project is making the power for the fans more permanent. Anyone know of a write-up on wiring electric fans?

Just have a toggle switch....Quite few writeups... Either toggle swich or put it in your fuse box so when your key is turned they come on.

It is in my fuse box now. I don't like how its wired though. It's kinda messy and doesn't look very durable. They work great, I just dont like the aesthetics.
