So i was putting back my motor, timed the cams and was tightening the camshaft sprocket bolt. Tighened it to spec and bam, bolt suddenly starts spinning with no resistance. I remove the bolt and the threads in the head are stripped. I try to repair with a heli-coil kit but i think the man at the shop gave me the wrong size and know my bolt is stripped too. I think the bolt is standard, guy sold me a metric kit.

Can anyone help me out by selling me a cam sprocket bolt, if they have one. My last resort would be to get a new head, but i've already put new seals on my valves. Please help.

So is your bolt striped out? or the cam striped or crossthreaded so both are screwed... In which case you need a new cam and a new bolt..... I got 2 engines I use for parts transferring. Bad pistons on both. [email protected]
