Crankshaft Timing Belt Gear Removal

What's the most trouble-free way of removing the gear? I'm having a tough time removing it, tried many different things to no avail.

I think most people just cut it off if it's being difficult. I've heard you can try heating it up with a torch, but being that close to oil and gasoline, not a good idea IMO.

I'm in the process of making a puller for mine, drill and tap a couple holes in the gear, get a nice thick steel plate with three holes(with the center one tapped) and got to work! Basicly the same as a steering wheel puller, I just didn't feel the need to buy one if I can make it.

i think there has been a few threads on this b4they usually cause some problems and removal is never easy

try a search and see what comes up :)
