I am in the process of rebuilding an S14 SR20DET. I am a little confused on the replacement of my main pulley. Should I replace it? Is there an interval at which your crankshaft pulley should be replaced? I am under the impression this pulley serves two purposes;one being that it is used to drive the belts that power the steering, AC and alternator, two it also acts as a damper for the rotational vibration of the crankshaft. This engine has only one modification CP pistons @86mm 8:5:1. It is not meant to be raced or highly revved. With this information can anyone share some insight on when and if a pulley/damper should be replaced. Thank you

Unless it is damaged or you want t underdrive the accessories, there's no reason to replace the oem crank pulley.
