Crankshaft Position Sensor

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

I am working on a 2004 Sentra 2.5 SE-4 and I am looking for the location of the crankshaft position sensor. And if anyone has any pics that would be helpful as well.

It's on the lower backside of the engine, right where the engine and transmission come together.

You can see it from the top, through the intake runners if you take the engine cover off. When I was at Nissan, I didn't bother to lift the car, easy to get to from the top, 10mm socket (magnetic makes life a lot easier). Sometimes it gets stuck so you might have to use pliers.

If you can't find it and need a pic I can take one of mine tomorrow.

I have a yellow sentra SE-R 04, im also trying to replace the crankshaft position sensor. i asked one of my tech buddy's and he thought he pointed it out to me, it ended up being the knock sensor. i know the sensor in 03 models are right under the starter. can i get a picture of where the sensor is in an 04 model??? thank you

02-06 QR25's are all in the same spot, back side of engine where transmission and engine come together, on the engine side. Toward the bottom, follow the instructions I posted for Michael. If you need more help just post up I'd be glad to go take a photo of mine.
