hey whats up? i just needed help on locating both sensors on the altima 05 2.5L if there was a picture that could show me where they are thanks

im haveing the same problem..one is right were the intake manifold is and the one i cant find is on the back of the motor, if you find the one in the back please post

yea that's the one I've been looking for!! I've been looking everywhere in the back and I can't locate it

The one shown in the picture that ALTI887 posted is the camshaft position sensor.

The one you're looking for (I think) is the crankshaft position sensor, located on the firewall side. You need to get underneath the car to get to it and it should be the last thing closest to the front of the engine (nearest the right fender).

i think my car is throwing a code for it too. i dont remember autozone telling me which one it is. how can i distinguish which one is the problem? and is there a recall for this or anything?

you can distinguish it by scanning the OBDII and remember the f***ing code and long enough to post your question on here to get it answered and find out what it is...

how about autozone didnt f*cking tell me which one it was, and the fact that it is news to me that altimas have 2 sensors.

so is there a recall or not? how about u f*cking answer my question like a normal person, not a d*ck

There is no recall even tho their should be because the cam and crank sensor goes out on every altima in the world, and useally its before 100k miles. Your best bet is to go to Autozone and buy both the cam and crank sensor, they are the exact same, $40 each and replace them both. The cam sensor is easy anyways, its the crank thats a b*tch.

Nissan has redesigned the sensor now where it has a metal shield around it. We have never had to replace one since the new part came out. No parts warranties, no "having to buy another one", none of that.

what are some things that will happen if the crank/cam position sensor goes out i know i know but i haven't had any problems out of the sensors in any of my cars so i have no experience with it so if anyone could take me to school with it I would appreciate it
