my car is giving a hard start so i pulled the code and it was the crank position sensor i cant find anything about it can some tell me about it how do i replace it and how much will it cost and can i do it my self?

There are two crank sensors. One is just below the crank pulley, and the other is mounted between the bell housing and the engine block (near the radiator). Both are easy to remove/install.

What was the code?

the code was 0407 but i was reading on the .org that if u have a bad starter your car will throw that code but since i got the car it always gave me a hard start but the car runs fine once it starts

Your code is for the sensor beneath the crank pulley.

so what you think i should change the starter or change the sensor or do both and how do u think it will cost

Just to be on the safe side, I would pull the starter and have it tested at Autozone (or somewhere similar). If that checks out ok, replace the crank sensor. You should be able to find the sensor from one of NICO's sponsors for pretty cheap (try Pinnacle or Midway). It's held in by (I think) two 10mm bolts.

so i bought the sensor for the passenger side is that the right one
