2BN_S13 and I swapped my busted-a$$ crankshaft position sensor out for a working one yesterday.

It was THE biggest pain in the a$$ you could possibly imagine for such an inconsequential little thing. To everyone who says it's easier to get at from under the car....you're nuts.

I'll post some pics up tonight of the busted CPS and of the other "thing" we removed, that neither of us can identify. Maybe someone here can help us out.

when I swapped mine out I took it out from top but then I realized that the harness was unplugged so when I had to put it back in I had to do it from underneath...

i broke mine off when i was puttin my transmission in on my s14, and it runs fine with out it. are there any consequences of runnin without it, been like 1000 miles so far, no probs

It's a useless sensor with respect to tuning and power...it used ONLY by the ECU to help determine misfire cylinder location.

CEL is the only negative to having it broken or disconnected.
