So I was having problems recently with my starter not wanting to engage all the way. After scanning both this code and running a system test, looks like everything is okay with the battery/alternator/starter. The P0335 code for a faulty Crankshaft Position sensor looks to be the culprit however. I've looked up a couple diagrams and scanned through WOT's topic on the issue. Just wondering if anybody had any tips or tricks for it. I'm thinking to try and find one off of a junkyard pathy tomorrow, or should I cough up the money for a new one?

Any help is appreciated,

CJ

Try following the diagnostic procedure on page EC-340 of the FSM.

Mhhm. Took a look at it earlier and printed out the instructions. I cleaned off the actual sensor on the underside that is located near the transmission. Going to clear the code tomorrow and see if it goes off again on my way to the junkyard. Is that small sensor underneath the only thing needing replacement or would it be the cause of some other major problem?

I've read of bad CKPS causing no-start issues and other odd things, but not any indication of other problems or engine damage. If cleaning / replacing the sensor solves the code, you can sleep well at night.
