crankshaft poistion sensor

i need to know if the crankshaft position sensor is built into the distributor or not. if not then i was wondering if someone could tell me where it is on the car. Car basically isn't getting spark. so it's either the wiring harness or the distributor.

Hello and welcome to the forums! I just replaced my Crankshaft Angle Position sensor on my 1995 240SX. It is mounted on the top of the bell housing of the transmission, right next to the engine. If you look down your firewall from the exhaust side, you might be able to see it or the wire harness connected to it. It's held on with a 10mm bolt and may have a metal cover over that.

I am unsure about a camshaft position sensor in the distributor, but recall seeing something like that in the wiring diagrams. Either of these should throw a code to your ECU. You can use an OBD 2 scanner to get the codes. The OBD 2 scanner port is on the left side of the passenger feet area, kind of on the transmission hump, just under the edge of center console trim for early model s14s. You should get your FSM and look into it. Here's a link:
