Crankshaft end play KA24E

Between 2600 and 2900 excesive engine noise/vibration, past expereince tells me too much end play, haven't measured yet. If necessary, is it possible to replace the trust bearing without removing the engine of the vehicle? Just want to squezze few more miles before doing the whole engine. Maybe just the oil pan? Where is it? at the center, front or rear Where Can I buy it?Thank You for your help
