1989 NISSAN 240SX KA24E AUTOMATIC

OK IM CONTINUING THIS FROM A PREVIOUS POST. THE TITLE DIDN'T MATCH THE SUBJECT...SO....HERE I GO!

ok then i'm currently in the middle of replacing the timing chain & all it's relevant components. the chain never broke, it was just rattling(find out why down below). now before all that i never put the car iN TDC & all that...so my question is; now that i can see all the internal. how do i align the crankshaft & cam. WHILE THE CAR WAS ON PARKED POSITION; I TRIED TO SPIN THE CRANKSHAFT BOTH WAYS ; BUT CAN'T SEEM TO BE ABLE TO TURN IT TO THE 12 O'CLOCK POSITION here are some pics:

When you say "while car was in parked position" do you mean it's an automatic and you have it in park? If so, yeah, it won't move like that. It needs to be in neutral to move.

There isn't really a good way to do it (or reason why you would want to do it) without the alignment marks in their proper positions.

ok...done by putting the car in neutral(i didn't know) rotating crank while placing a long screw driver until i felt the piston all the way up. now everything matchesat 12 o'clock.

now i got to go to a junkyard, lost one of those real small half moon things by the end of the crankshaft; didn't know those came off???

Yeah, the alignment key comes off. If you can't find a 240 to get it from I think most of the older Nissans are the same.
