Well some good news i got it cranking tonight with the key, my problem was i had the wrong connector jumped, i jumped the connector with the white and black/yellow....wrong one!! Jumped black/yellow and black/white, cranked. Still no start though.im having an issue with the brown connector in the corner of the engine bay. According to the racebread conversion link, pin 4 green/orange is for the trans nutural switch to ecu, but there is no pin 4. There is however a green/orange wire comeing out of pin 5, but its not getting any signal. Also pin 6 black/yellow, for aac valve, and power to ignition coils is not getting any power. Where is the aac valve, and whats it look like?? Also what wire on the ignition coils does it get connected to??? And why is there no power?!?!?When i touch the black/pink wire(pin 7) with a test light i get low voltage and the second green relay in the fuse box(egi pump) clicks. When i touch red/black(pin 8) both the green relays click (egi pump and h/l ret cont). What does that mean?? is it normal?? I know there are alot of questions here but if anyone can answer any of these for me i would be very appreciative.

so today i undid all of the wiring, done the racebread.com way, and wired it up according to the nico write up, and still nothing, my fuel pump isnt even priming anymore. I also noticed that i have no signal to the trans nutiral switch at the ecu, and the ecu power signaled through eccs relay was not working. Also, the light on the ecu was not on.. bad ecu?

I'm having the exact same problem,Cranks but no start. No power to ECU ,i noticed the ecu get power for 1 split sec when i turn the ecu off.I have checked every wire possible,Voltage dropped it and ohm'd out every wire to check for breaks. If i keep the key in the ON position the ECU gets hot.Could there be anything draining power from the ECU??

check on pin 58 at the ecu; you should see constant 12v power.

check for proper grounding.

I checked both of those already,I know the ecu has 12v going into it at the connector. Its getting hot,and when i turn the ignition off the light lights up for one split second

probably a relay problem.

i never follow wiring guides.. only use them for general concepts and pointers, and i also hate remembering stuff by color. when people talk about red/blue wire green/yellow BS i just roll my eyes. that is a horrible way to do wiring unless you're wiring a radio. look at the wiring diagrams and study them to figure out what you are doing wrong. bench test your harness and make sure you have fuel and spark. if you can't do these things then i would send your harness out to get it done by someone who can.

people make a huge deal about cranking the motor as if it's right on the verge of starting. WHY? this isn't some carb motor. to crank the motor you need like 2 or 3 wires to be correct. It doesn't mean anything. you don't even need an ECU to crank over a motor.

Exactly the advice I was gonna give.....just think..your car needs just a few things to work. The FSM for both cars will help alot in this case.

I removed the relay under the dash thinking it was the same thing.I jumped the wires and the relay under the hood started making a loud buzzzing noise.

This is why i hate working behind other people,The guy thought he could do it.So he put the motor in the car and couldn't even line the motor up right.

Im going to put another harness i have pre-made in it and see if that solves the problem, which i doubt it will.I know the ECU is good,i tested it in my car.

well...

this thread is depressing, I have an SR with the same problem. I tried two ecu's and still no love.

...but I still stay positive
