Alright, so I believe my PCV is bad. Currently I have the, rather large, nipples on the left valve cover and the intake (few inches before the TB) capped off and I have an oil breather filter on. So I have 1 working area of crankcase ventilation. If I replace the PCV, can I keep the nipples (on intake piping and left side valve cover) capped off and then remove the breather filter? Normally I wouldn't care, but I'm tired of cleaning off my starter (from oil splashing/leaking through the breather filter) every 2 months. As well as tired of cleaning my engine bay more than a few times a year. I may attempt to find a replacement hose for the left valve cover and intake piping this summer (unless someone knows the specific name (as it's molded with each end a different size) where I can order a new one, but I don't want to have any issues and blow out a seal. Thanks.

Yes you can run the pcv valve on the passanger side of the motor while leaving the drivers side capped, you could also move that breather over to the drivers side valve cover. Allowing any metered air to escape will mean the car will run a touch rich, not enough to be an issue just fyi. why not repipe the drivers side as well?

Thanks for the quick reply. I just want to err on the side of caution. And I will repipe the drivers side eventually (this August a bunch of friends and I are reserving a local 1/4 mile strip for a friend's birthday; an R32, few Z's some muscle, and some other imports). I plan to put off my RB plan and I will be turboing the NA block. So a bunch of work to be done. Actually, while I'm mentioning it, do you have any spare turbo parts that you don't need? Over the next few months I will be buying parts and if you've got some that I'll need, it'll save me time tracking down parts and pad your wallet up. Anyway, wouldn't I have to drill a hole in the driver's side valve cover to relocate the breather filter?

And the main thing I was asking was would it be safe to run only the PCV (no oil breather and the nipple on the left valve cover capped) or would the pressure be to much?

The pcv system is there to relieve pressure from the crank case (hence the name "positive crankcase ventilation"). The pressure just has to have some place to go, atmosphere by way of a breather or a catchcan, into the intake tract in front of the TB or after with the use of a pcv valve which prevents any backfire or positive manifold pressure from entering the crankcase. The fact that these cars are metered air means allowing that gas to release somewhere other than the intake between the MAS and the combustion chamber simply means metered air is leaving the system making the engine a tiny bit richer than normal.

I might be willing to part with some of my turbo parts, what are you looking for exactly? For a price you can buy my turbo z31...

Alright, helps clear it up (kinda interesting about the backfiring part. Haha).

The hardest parts to find will be a drivers side manifold in good condition and an ecu (preferably an 86 or early 87 so I can use a speed sensor for wiring up an aftermarket speedometer). If you have a stock turbo (if a seal is blown, but is still in good operable condition, that's fine as new seals and gaskets are cheap) with the down pipe for a good price I may be interested. Other odds and ends I'll be looking for are: speed sensor, knock sensor, injectors, 255lph fuel pump, manual boost controller, and possibly intake piping.

I'd be interested in a whole parts car if it wouldn't cost $1100 to ship and I wouldn't be able to take a week off of work to pick anything up. So I'll just be grabbing parts paycheck to paycheck.
