This is what another member had to say in another thread and I have seen/heard/ and been told this as well.

Cranks are the same. But came in three variations, IIRC. The only difference is in bearing clearance, and only when using Nissan bearings. If you have it turned, this goes out the window.

Funny story, in 1991 when Nissan decided to make the 240 w/ DOHC, they kind of hacked it together. This is apparent if you spent any time under the timing cover of either motor. On the single cam they use one gear to drive the cam, on the DOHC, that gear became a cam chain idler, which runs a second chain. Basically, with the exception of the pistons and the oil squirters, the DE is just an E with a different head.

Yes, you will be fine switching cranks over, along with most bottom end components.

From the cranks that I have seen, this is incorrect. The RWD KADE shares its crank with the FWD KAE found on the Stanza. These cranks have a shorter snout which would not allow the crankshaft pulley, oil slinger, oil pump drivegear and timing gear to be mounted. I believe this is in part because of the power steering set up. Because of this a DE crank can not be used on an E block.
