I'm doing timing chain replacement, and I have two questions.1)What size of socket should I used to take the crankshaft pully bolt off?? 2) How can I check the tension for each belt?? I'd appreciate any suggestion..

im sure theres a milimeter to use. but a 1 1/16" socket worked for me to turn over the engine and retorque the crank pulley. jsut push on the belts they should move out or in more than 1/4" i belive

yep youre right about the size, usually a good rule of thumb is tighten it until you can only twist it about 90 degrees. and make sure u put the #1 piston at tdc, it will make things much easier,

Its not an American car, use metric. Its 27mm. I just did a front crank seal in mine the other day.

Belt tension is something that comes with experience. There are gauges you can buy though. The 90 degree twist rule and feel are what I use. Do it on the longest span of the belt.

What are you going to use to hold the crank still while you loosen and tighten the crank shaft pulley bolt? I used a big chain wrench with an old piece of belt wrapped around the pulley to protect it.

im just saying, why waste half an hour to go buy a 27 mm if you have a 1 1/16 socket allready, they are exactly the same fitment

not same exact, just similar. Im guilty myself of using a 3/4 inch socket in place of 19mm socket :D
