Well the Pieces from Ishihara-Johnson Crank Scrapers arrived Today. I must say that it is Beefier and More Engineered than I thought it would be, this ain't no cut piece of Sheet Metal here. I give Props to whomever fabbed up the Windage Tray looks like a lot of Time was spent on that. Instructions for the Scraper were very Detailed and came in Color but no Instructions for the Tray, but Hell It looks pretty Self Explanatory. Will be Posting Pics on the Install in the A.M.

Here is the Setup while I was Checking my Clearances. Now this isn't a Direct Bolt In affair, I had to Bolt and UnBolt the Scraper many times to make sure Crank End Play was in Spec. also to get rid of Interference because it did touch Rotating Assembly in some places. But some Grinding and Filing later everything is Kosher. DSM Meet today took all my Daylight so I'll finish Bolting it up Tommorrow. One note though, as you can see my Block is Out of the Engine Bay so Installation is fairly Simple. But according to the Instructions it can be Installed on the Car, that would be an Excercise in frustration if you ask me. Anyway I'm late for the Bar Crawl!

I would be eager to see what kind of power increase you saw from that, if you were able to make a direct comparison.

I won't be able to do a direct comparison of Before and After Power because of other Mods like Ported Throttle Body, Intake Goodies from Excessive Motorsports, Etc.. But I will Dyno my New N/A Tune and list all Modifications for Comparison. Trying to Make Engine as Efficent as Possible for soon to be High Nitrous, Low Boost, 9.5 Compression Setup.

[QUOTE=Nanaimo]What does it do?

Basically it Lowers Oil Temp., Increases Rev Ability, Reduces Oil Foaming and Starvation at Heavy Cornering and Acceleration, and Decreases Parasitic Drag on Driveline.

Off topic - what's with capitalizing the first letter of each word?

p.s. I just ordered a scraper and windage tray as well for my KA-t build (and a high-volume oil pump).

Total there was about 2 Hours worth of Grinding and Filing. I also had to Drill a hole for the Oil Dipstick.

I know the 280z turbo oil pump will work for the KA24E, but I am not so sure about the DE motor.

HV oil pump is made by TOGA, and I ordered mine from importperformanceparts.net.

Trying to get one of our sponsors to carry it so we don't have to go "out of network".

Also try, http://www.hybridka.com Try sending Gabe an e mail.

Also, he contributes mightily here on the forum, very savy on the technical side.

So the 280z HV oil pump will work for the DE motor? If so that is great.

I cannot wait for mike808 to post up his results. From what i have heard about the ichihara crank scrapers is that they are really good quality, and demonstrate obvious improvement in oil control

The TOGA components are very sketchy, they are advertised as "performance oriented" upgrade components yet their stamped part numbers cross reference directly with other manufactures aftermarket replacement components.

Check the wording on a lot of their stuff, your just buying new parts.

Unfortunately there is not much option for dohc oil pump upgrades aside from external, which is a better option anyways.

The Engine is back in and running great. The only thing with the Crank Scraper and Windage Tray is I installed it with a bunch of other Mods so it is hard for me to say what the overall benefit actually is. I myself would like to know more about the HV Oil pump, I've had one on my old Mustang and it actually gave me less Horsepower but it lowered my Oil Temp.
