I would like to replace my front main seal on my sr because I'm noticing a little bit of oil residue on the front cover behind the crank pulley, its hardly anything but I'm just anal about stuff like that. My question is, when installing the pulley back on the crank and torqing it down, how do you prevent the motor from turning over? Im thinking to just leave it in gear with the e-brake on but I'm not sure if that will hold? Also, is it a stretch bolt that has to be replaced or can it be re used?

Thanks.

The gear method is bad for the transmission. You could either use an impact wrench or another method you could try is tightening all the fairly tight and using those at leverage. Putting screwdrivers in the holes to keep the accessory pulleys from rotating. Be creative and you should be able to come up with something.

You can reuse the crank bolt.

My vote is impact..and as for the front main seal..you can put that in with like a 28mm socket or a rubber hammer
