After reading some comments and reviews from people in 240sx.org and other message boards on aftermarket crank pulleys, I decided on buying the ASP crank pulley, but after having a nightmare of my beautiful crank being destroyed from improper harmonic balancing, i sent an e-mail to ASP Racing concerning this issue, this is what they replied:
>>Our pulley replaces the harmonic dampner with a soild alum pulley. We use the new pulley to absorbe the harmonics thru different ways. 1 alum cools faster than steel so heat generated from harmonics is not a problem. 2 we use the belt system to transfer harmonics accross the accessory system. 3. the weight of the pulley is not as lite as it could be so the rotating mass will not ware out the main bearings. If a pulley is too lite , you will have bearing problems. <<
I chose the ASP initially b/c people said it was as good as or better quality than the UR pulley which is a great name, but I've become skeptical of companies being aware of the uniquness of the KA24 especially with its abnormal shaking. BTW: I ordered the crank pulley from enjukuracing.com for $119. Pretty cheap compared to the anorexic a little too light UR pulley for $180+.
