i ablsolutly can not get the crank gear off . the oil pump makes it impossible to use any pullers i have and every other method i tried the gear was just on too tight. how did you guys remove your crank gear. i tried to pull the crank but the alignment pegs for the oil pump hold it in place, so i cant do anything im stuck.

This topic has been covered too many times. Either take the appropriate size flat head screwdriver X(2), place them behind and on each end of the crank sprocket, and using a hammer, drive the screwdrivers down intermittently until the sprock starts moving and eventually come off. Or you can always drill and tap and then use a puller to try and extract it. Or lastly, you can cut it and just replace it with a new one. I do not recommend heating up the sprocket with a torch, but you're free to try it.

Good Luck,

Dee

I'm such a lucky SOB, mine practically fell off. But do as boostboy said, and try searching. I KNOW this has been covered COUNTLESS times.
