i just got my SR in the car so i tried to start the it and it would crank over and it backfired REALLY loud once but wouldnt start.

what i figured out, it has fuel pressure, didnt check it with a gauge but it was enough to spray all over the shop with the car off when the fuel line was pulled off, and it has spark, but since all we had was a test light i didnt find out yet if the injectors are pulsing or not.

since i know its out of time we tried rotating the CAS a little at a time and trying to start it and still nothing.

anyone have a good idea of what it might be and how i fix it???

sounds to me like the timing is off...check your base timing.

May sound stupid, but are you sure the gas lines are on properly? i just had the same problem myself. someone else had tried to do the swap,i got it and never though about checking the obvious. sure enough they were backwards.other than that.

check:

SparkPlug gapTimingDouble check wiring,as i also had a few plug where they shouldnt have been.

hope it helps

i have the feed line going to the hard line toward the middle of the fuel rail, and the return line going to the line toward the front of the fuel rail, thats right isnt it?

if thats what it was im going to feel really stupid lol

Sounds correct. feed line closer to rear of fuel rail, and return line coming off of the pressure regulator.
