Symptoms

86.5 D21 VG30i AT 2WD.

Truck running good, always immediate start
then one day slow to start, then ran OK
then sputter start, then run, then fade to dead
no spark, fuel pressure OK

truck sat for several weeks
started up strong on next try
ran for a few miles
ECU code reads injector

symptoms reappear while start and stop during ECU tesing
and failure duplicated.

I'm wondering what the symptoms are of a "crank angle sensor" failure?
Haynes call the CAS the "right hand of the ECU for control of the fuel injection, ignition timing, idle speed, fuel pump operation and the EGR function" It's located in the distributor.

advise and shared experience appreciated

Did you ever get a fix on this. I"m having a similar problem. Engine starts good, runs a few miles and then loses power and dies. I'm not getting the injector code but Codes 11 (crank sensor) and 12 (MAS).

Thanks and Happy New Year!
