no, if you have a cranking issue it's the starter and or the flywheel, and the rod bearing tend to fail before the main bearings, which gives you a rod knock, if the mians fail it tends to be the thrust bearing, and the crank walks when you depress the clutch, if the bearsing go, you need a rebuild, but most likely you have either a staarter issue, or as a result of a starter issue the teeth on the flywheel are damaged, pull the starter and get a good look at the teeth n the flywheel and the starter and find out fhy it's grinding
