When I go from R to 1 my car makes a cracking sound from the rear and sometimes does it when shifting gears or going over bumps. Any answers or solutions.

Thanks

how old is it? you get the suspension joints lubed? my nissan dealer does that stuff with the regular oil change... try that and see if it helps.. other than that though it's pretty common especially with cars with sunroofs etc.

It's a TSB, both the Axle click and this: http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki..._Axle

Just make sure you can reproduce the noise / problem and take it to a dealer / mechanic and have them drive with you while you reproduce the problem.

Yeah, it could have just been that this article was published in 04 and that's why it doesn't list the 05-06 models. I'm pretty sure it would be covered though, especially if you are still within your factory warranty.

Yeah probably, I am still under the warranty and I'm gonna call them to get this done. Where did u get that link? Is there other ones like it ? Hey thanks a lot for your help, I really appreciate it.

me too...mine makes the noise when accelerating from stop (especially when i got my wheels turned), or when braking hard. It would only do it once then it would stop. It's a good thing i got that warranty.

What does this cost to get it fixed? is it like a recall where i can take it in and have it fixed for free?.... i think mine is doing it too, and i noticed it when i bought it, but everyone i had in the car couldn't hear it or thought it was normal..... i'm gonna go drive it and see if i can still hear it. been awhile since i paid attention...

No problem on the help.

Here's a few sites with TSB's (Technical Service Bulletins):http://www.nissan-techinfo.com...03-08http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Category:TSB

*edit* To my knowledge, the TSB's should be free to fix. They're not quite like recalls, I know that, but if you've got any kind of warranty coverage, it's free. If you're not sure, just take it in and ask about it (make sure you mention it's a TSB as well), that way they don't try to take advantage of you.

I know for a fact the axle lube is free. I took my car in for the 45k maintenance and told them about the click while driving and they patched it up and never billed me.
