Cracked windshields a common V thing?

I've gone through 2 windshields so far with my V. The crack starts below the plastic trim near the hood on the passengers side and I cant find any evidence of a rock chip or damage. Seems like a stress crack and its a reoccuring problem.

Has anyone else experienced this problem or am I the only one?

I don't remember where I read about a rash of cracked window problems with one member saying they had replaced the windshield four times. It appeared to be more a problem with the 2007 models and I do recall a Nissan TSB regarding this problems.

i experienced stress cracks on both my previous nissans, '91 NX1600 and '02 spec-v.seems water would not properly drain from the front pillar areas and somehow would collect and eventually rust the pillar, in the area where the side view mirrors are, i open the door and i saw rust on the pillar area, above door hinge, which becomes a week spot, flexing and cracking my windshield, on both cars.

i hope the versa won't have this problem.

I have just got a crack last week in my 08 Versa SL hatchback. Exact same spot you are referring to, and sounds like a similar issue. Nothing hit the window. I did notice on occasion a weird sound coming from the windshield when I would hit a large bump/pothole etc... Sounded kind of like the bottom of the windshield grinding or hitting something...

Well, i just went to the dealer this morning, and he said there isnt any TSB's regarding cracked windshields...he even showed me where the rock hit...supposedly.

He took a fine pen and ran the tip through the crack, if the pen gets caught up anywhere along the crack, thats where the rock hit it.

Oh well, New windshield coming soon! Im getting no deductable glass coverage this time.

Please have your dealer open his eyes and look up service bulletin NTB09-81 which was issued on August 25 2009.
